Security Forces Exercise Caution Amid Hostage Rescue Operation

Minister of State for Interior and Narcotics Control Talal Chaudhry has revealed that militants involved in the Bolan train attack are using women and children as human shields, complicating the ongoing security operation.

Speaking on Geo News’ program ‘Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Kay Sath’, Talal dismissed terrorist claims of voluntarily releasing hostages, emphasizing that all rescues have been carried out by security forces.

“Security forces are exercising extreme caution because of the lives at stake… A full-scale operation is underway, and all passengers will be rescued soon,” he assured.

Jaffar Express Under Siege: Attack Details

🚆 The Jaffar Express, carrying over 400 passengers in nine bogies, was en route from Quetta to Peshawar when it was ambushed in Balochistan’s Bolan district.

💥 Terrorists blew up the railway track and opened fire on the locomotive, injuring the driver before taking hostages, including government officials and their families.

🔴 Militants moved hostages into nearby mountainous areas, further complicating rescue efforts.

Rescue Efforts & Security Forces’ Response

Injured passengers evacuated to hospitals

Among those rescued so far:

  • 53 men
  • 26 women
  • 11 children

Talal blamed external forces for fueling terrorism in Pakistan, stating:

“There is clear evidence that these terrorists receive funding from Afghanistan’s drug trade.”

He also urged the international community to support Pakistan in its fight against terrorism.
