Hamas expresses readiness to begin Gaza ceasefire talks
United States President Donald Trump said on Friday it was good that Hamas said it had responded in “a positive spirit” to a US-brokered Gaza ceasefire proposal.
He told reporters aboard Air Force One there could be a deal on a Gaza ceasefire by next week but that he had not been briefed on the current state of negotiations.
In a related statement, Trump added that he would discuss issues concerning Iran with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The US President said that Iran’s nuclear programme has been completely dismantled, adding that Iran could restart its nuclear activities.
Meanwhile, Hamas has expressed readiness to immediately begin talks aimed at achieving a ceasefire in Gaza.
