Parents urged to ensure administration of oral polio vaccine
One polio case was confirmed in North Waziristan, taking the tally to 14 cases in ongoing year.
According to details surfaced on Tuesday, the National Emergency Operations Centre (NEOC) said that a 19-month-old contacted the polio. Eight polio cases were confirmed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, whereas four were reported in Sindh.
Punjab and Gilgit-Baltistan reported one case each. A special anti-polio drive is slated to happen in 11 of North Waziristan’s union councils (UCs).
The NEOC has asked the parents to ensure administration of oral polio vaccine to the children.
