Sindh Government orders urgent measures to combat Covid-19, H1N1

In light of the rising H1N1 influenza infections in Sindh, the province’s Director General of Health has issued urgent measures to mitigate the virus’s transmission. The health department has urged for enhanced awareness campaigns and increased initiatives to guarantee vaccine availability, particularly in high-risk regions.
Healthcare facilities are directed to improve surveillance, administer prompt treatment, and report cases expeditiously. The Director General underscored the necessity of public education regarding preventive strategies, such as regular hand washing, mask-wearing, and obtaining medical assistance upon the onset of flu-like symptoms.
Authorities are collaborating with local health teams to ensure optimal resource allocation and compliance with public health guidelines. The situation is under vigilant observation, and the administration is dedicated to mitigating the effects of the H1N1 outbreak in the area. One month prior, Sindh Health Minister Dr. Azra Pechuho refuted claims of a COVID-19 outbreak in Karachi, labeling them as inaccurate, according to local media sources.
In a statement released on Monday, the minister emphasized that of over 100 Covid-19 tests performed in Karachi, only seven persons tested positive. “Allegations of a Covid-19 outbreak in the city are unfounded,” she stated.

Dr. Pechuho elucidated that prophylactic Covid-19 tests were administered to people exhibiting symptoms of seasonal flu and influenza..
