US President Donald Trump issued a strongly worded message on Friday, warning Iran of even more severe consequences unless it agrees to a deal with the United States and Israel, amid rapidly escalating tensions in the Middle East.
In a post shared on his social media platform Truth Social, Trump said he had given Iran “chance after chance” to negotiate but claimed Tehran “just couldn’t get it done.” He added that he had warned Iran that failing to act would lead to consequences “worse than anything they expected.”
“The United States makes the best and most lethal military equipment anywhere in the world—BY FAR—and Israel has a lot of it, with much more to come,” Trump said. “Certain Iranian hardliners talked tough, but they’re all DEAD now. It will only get worse.”
The statement comes hours after a series of Israeli airstrikes hit multiple Iranian cities, including Tehran, Shiraz, and Tabriz, killing senior military officials and at least six nuclear scientists, as reported by Iranian and international media. Iran has vowed retaliation and has already launched a barrage of over 100 drones into Israeli territory, further intensifying the conflict.
