World Bank approves $194 million loan for Pakistan

Funds will be utilized for two separate projects in the Balochistan province

The World Bank has approved a $194 million loan for Pakistan.

According to the World Bank, the funds will be utilized for two separate projects in the Balochistan province, focusing on improving educational opportunities for children and strengthening water security.

World Bank Country Director Najy Benhassine stated that the projects aim to reduce educational deprivation in Balochistan. He added that the Balochistan Water Security Project will help enhance the province’s resilience against climate change.

The World Bank further noted that investments in infrastructure and human development in Balochistan will create employment opportunities in the region.
