PM reiterates Pakistan’s commitment to playing a constructive role in promoting peace

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a telephonic conversation with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian amidst rising regional tensions following U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran.

The Prime Minister strongly condemned the American aggression and Israel’s “unprovoked and unjustified military actions” against Iran, denouncing the attacks as blatant violations of international law and a serious breach of IAEA protectionsExpressing heartfelt condolences over the loss of precious lives and praying for the swift recovery of the injured, PM Shehbaz reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering solidarity with the Iranian people and leadership.

“Targeting IAEA-protected sites is not only reckless but a direct assault on global norms,” the PM stated

Calling for immediate de-escalation, Shehbaz Sharif stressed that the only viable path forward is through negotiations and diplomacy. He urged the international community to take collective action to defuse the crisis and reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to playing a constructive role in promoting peace.

Iranian President Pezeshkian expressed deep gratitude for Pakistan’s timely support and solidarity, acknowledging the firm backing by the people, government, and military leadership of Pakistan.

As the region teeters on the edge, Islamabad’s call for calm and dialogue may serve as a critical voice for peace in an increasingly volatile Middle East.
