Ariana Grande has been diagnosed with PTSD, or post-traumatic stress disorder, and the effect on her brain was shocking.
In a 2019 post, the “Everyday” hitmaker gave her fans a glimpse into how trauma had impacted her brain.
For example, Ariana shared an image on Instagram comparing a ‘healthy brain’ to the brain of someone with PTSD.
She then posted her own brain scan, which resembled that of someone suffering from a mental disorder.
Several reasons contributed to her condition, including the 2017 attack at her Manchester concert.
The attack left over 1,000 people injured and resulted in 22 deaths. Speaking to British Vogue after the incident, Ariana said, “I know those families and my fans, and everyone there experienced a tremendous amount of trauma as well.”
“Time is the biggest thing. I feel like I shouldn’t even be talking about my own experience — like I shouldn’t even say anything. I don’t think I’ll ever know how to talk about it and not cry,” Ariana concluded.
